READING TO DOGS

                    with Hopper and Lilly

 

 

 

 

 

Eileen Balcom - Vetillo owner of Hopper and Lilly, wanted to give an opprotunity to our community. An opprotunity to being able to read to dogs. You are probably thinking most dogs are not calm enough to sit down for a 10 - 15 minutes. Well  Hopper and Lilly are both calm, relaxed, and love to listen! Hopper and Lilly are Australian Shepards and members of Therapy Dogs International. Eileen loves to do programs like this during her free time. Otherwise, Eileen is a private trainer to help your dog to be very happy and be well behaved. Her goal is to help the dog as well as your family communicate better with one another.  

 

We started this program back in 2011. It has been a great hit!

We do this program for children ages Kindergarden - 5th grade.

This program runs normally about one hour.

 

Not only is this program just reading to dogs but we also play WII at this program. We do a routation of the children. Four children at a time are playing WII and two children reading to the dogs.  If there is more then six kids in the program, we set up a table were there are fun coloring sheets. This gives all children participating in the program busy at all times.

 

These programs have been very popular during the summer time. We aim to have this program at least twice a year.
